Federal EPA still lets leftover 410A systems go in. Strut and PTAC already moved in August.
1. Leftover R-410A systems can still be installed
What: EPA's May 26, 2026 final rule (effective July 27) lets you keep installing HVAC units that use R-410A if they were manufactured or imported before Jan 1, 2025, until that stock is gone. NAHB says no new complete 410A systems are being made. Manufacturers still make parts for service. New York still bans new 410A installs under state law.
So-what: A 410A split sitting on your floor is still a legal install in most states. Nobody is restocking complete systems.
Now-what: Sell the 410A you have at a real price. Skip it on New York jobs, and check the local rule before you load the truck.
2. Eaton B-Line, 4.5-10% since Aug 2
What: Eaton B-Line is the strut, hangers, and trapeze you use to hang equipment. Geary and ACHR list 4.5-10% as of Aug 2, 2026.
So-what: A hang-and-set quote from July has the wrong steel in it.
Now-what: Reprice the open jobs that eat a lot of strut. Buy what this week's installs need.
3. Amana PTAC, up to 5% since Aug 1
What: Geary and ACHR list Amana and Distinctions PTAC units and accessories at up to 5% as of Aug 1, 2026. That is the motel and light-commercial through-the-wall box, not the Amana split that moved 7% on Aug 3.
So-what: Hospitality and PTAC changeouts quoted in July are light.
Now-what: Pull those PTAC quotes and put them on the new sheet.
